Goal
Elementary Education
Basicly had a clear and ambitious mission: create a digital education tool that works just as well for a seven-year-old as it does for a sixty-year-old teacher who’s never touched an e-learning platform. That balance between ultra-accessible and genuinely engaging shaped every design decision. The content covered topics like digital skills, internet safety, and media awareness—all of which required a UI that could guide students while keeping them focused, and empower teachers to confidently take charge, even with limited digital literacy themselves. Although I didn’t define the original visual style, I refined and expanded it to create cleaner page layouts and simpler user flows. For the student-facing experience, the focus was on keeping things playful but not overwhelming—clear structure, bold callouts, and restrained use of visual effects. On the teacher side, usability was key. The CMS had to support content creation, lesson planning, and customization without complexity. Every button, label, and transition was stripped of unnecessary friction. A big part of the project’s success came from collaboration. There was constant dialogue between our team, Basicly, and our developers to make sure every design was feasible and purposeful. Whether it was simplifying onboarding flows or redesigning key templates, the result is a platform that’s fun, flexible, and practical for the classroom.

Process
This project evolved through close collaboration and frequent iterations. I worked from initial design audits and layout adjustments, through to final UX refinements across the front end and CMS. Feedback loops with both the client and development team ensured that designs stayed grounded in reality, while still pushing for simplicity and clarity. The final result reflects months of focused tweaking and back-and-forth to get every detail just right.

Designing for both kids and adults in a single platform is no small feat—but that’s exactly what made this project so rewarding. Want to see how similar principles apply in other projects? Explore a few related case studies below.
